Bastille Day dinner!

a sun dappled dinner table

Dining with friends on a summer night is our idea of the the perfect evening, and since today was Bastille Day, it was a good excuse to make an outrageous French meal! The night was warm—perhaps a little too warm—but the conversation and variety of libations flowed freely. The meal, shared with our neighbors Mark & Maggie, included our annual indulgence of French fries cooked in rendered duck fat, and spicy mussels in white wine, a trés fab combo. (See our mussel dinner from last year here.)
